More Adventures in Glazing

6 Apr

Now that a month has passed, I can reconcile myself to the fact that I ruined the best parts of this St. Catherine statue by clobbering it with glaze. I should have gone far lighter on the glaze on the face, using clear glass, and then used much less of the dark blue underglaze pigment. That said, the plain parts with no underglaze worked well, and the dark blue underglaze is a great color. Next time, I’ll use a lighter touch and it’ll all turn out great. Also on the bright side: it looks great from far away!
